29 May 2017 - Baking and bunnies

I spent the day home today, getting some house work done and keeping busy.

Like most weeks, I did some baking! This week I went for some chocolate chip biscuits. The recipe came from the Great British Bake Off cook book - which I love the show. They turned out quite good I think.

A while ago, I sculpted some bunnies. (they are my first attempt at sculpting so In think they turned out quite good!) I painted them in opposite colours and finished them with a glossy finish. 

There was a cheeky cat in the garden when I saw when I took the picture of the bunnies!

28 May 2017 - Lunch date

After a bit of a sleep-in, we got ready and decided to head out for lunch.

We ended up at Scorch-o-Rama, which is a great spot if you're in Wellington and is on the coast. On a nice day, you can sit outside right by the sea but today was cloudy and cold. I especially like the smoothies there and order one every visit.

After lunch we popped into town and I picked up some bath bombs from Lush as well as the cutest pencil case! There was also a typography art exhibition on, and these letters really caught my eye.

On the way home, we took a detour and ended up on a hill with a great view.

Any way, that was my day today. I'm currently making some bread to have with dinner, as it is a going to be a cold evening.

Homely touches

I'm currently renting a lovely wee flat in Island Bay. Today I thought I'd share some of my favourite corners of the house.

Mainly I like to decorate with plants, but am always on the lookout for interesting furniture and decor. My most recent purchase was a beautiful white shaggy blanket that you'll see on the bed.

The coffee table. The table itself we picked up on Trademe and is definitely a unique piece. The little fox is the cutest!

Dressing table - I like to keep this book here as it looks pretty next to the pink draw.

I do like my little home and wish I was here more, as I work full time I only really spend the evenings and weekend here and am not able to decorate as much as I'd like. It's not quite perfect, but there are parts that I do really like.
